Hej allihopa! Finally, it’s time! We are able to release our very first beginner lesson for learning the Nordic language of Sweden. Are you as excited as we are?
I’m Joakim and my brother Ludvig and I are going to take you on a journey with our character, Anders. He’s 24 and lives in Stockholm. He is going to help us teach you Swedish.

Hi Ivian! I’m glad that you think that our project is cool. There is no following lessons right now. We just started. We are however publishing them in the near future, the next lesson coming this Friday. Tune in then!

Hej. Do you have any experience teaching people Swedish (or any language)? THe idea of saying thing and saying them again, with English (and a little more slowly) will unfortunately not allow users to become fluent. Sorry. Have you looked at any textbook, from, for example, the Swedish Institute. It’s just not how people learn to speak a language. Sorry. Good luck, however.

we don’t have teacher’s degrees. However, we have learned enough languages ourselves to know that you can learn a language in this manner. If you don’t think so it’s up to you. I also know most of the mistakes people make when they try to speak Swedish. Thus, I’m making the site. The lessons are free, so no one can feel fooled. If this isn’t what they seek, then they can learn Swedish elsewhere. They never paid anything, they have just lost 10 minutes of their time. We never said that this is going to replace a real course in Swedish. It might, however, be the best you can find, though, at some locations. That’s why we provide this free podcast. We do this to help, that’s it, and we think it works.
The German site already has over 1000 fans on Facebook and a lot of satisfied listeners, that we’ve helped advance. I think that speaks for itself.

Guys, thank you so much for the simple and yet sooooo useful course! I’ve been looking for anything like this rather long. I think the course could do better with some exercises (e.g. see how it is done at http://www.serbianschool.com), but have not reason whatsoever to complain.
As to your direct question, I would like to learn Swedish to read Swedish books. Detectives in the first line, of course )))

we do have exercises for the upcoming lessons. We don’t think that there are too much to practise in these really basic episodes.

There are going to be lessons about this of course. I will give you a quick list though:
lj/hj/gj = j (not as in English but rather like y in yellow)
stj/sj/skj/sk = this is a sound doesn’t exist in English. It’s somewhat like an h or is at least related to it
